Handwriting Input for Tablets?

Hello All:

As tablet computers that utilize pen input are becoming more common, I've been looking for a solution to use handwriting input in Linux (I have a Lenovo X220t). Windows includes a good solution as a matter of course these days, but, in searching for a Linux solution, the best I can come up with is CellWriter, which is rather clunky.

Years ago, on my old x61t, I used a paid tool called "Myscript Stylus" that worked wonderfully--but support for that ended a long time ago, and the old package no longer works.

Searching the web for other possibilities, all I seem to find are projects that ceased any development years ago. The farthest along seems to be a project called "Ink2Text," but even that's so old I can't get it to compile to check it out.

It seems really weird to me that, given that handwriting input is now ubiquitous on Windows and Android, no one seems to be trying to develop it for Linux!

Is anyone aware of additional solutions or tools?
