Dealmaster: Take 20% off video game pre-orders with Prime while you can

Greetings, Arsians! Courtesy of our friends at TechBargains, we have another round of deals to share. Today's list is headlined by more of a PSA than an out-and-out deal: as we noted earlier this week, Amazon is changing its video game pre-order discount policy for Prime members. Currently, subscribers can take 20 percent off pre-orders for upcoming physical copies of video games. Since most standard titles go for $60, that typically works out to a $12 straight cash discount-a decent savings if you're the type who buys lots of games on launch day.

On August 28, however, the company says it will replace that 20-percent discount with a $10 store credit that only applies to "select games" and must be used within 60 days. This isn't the worst downgrade: Amazon's announcement suggests the credit will also be applicable to digital games, and if you use Amazon often, you're only effectively losing $2 per order. But if you're a Prime member with games on your radar and you're not sure if you'll use Amazon enough to make use of that timed credit, it may be worth taking advantage of the existing offer before next week.

We rounded up a handful of particularly anticipated upcoming games below, but the discount will apply to just about any future game with a physical copy. And if you're all set on the gaming front, we also have deals on gaming PCs, robot vacuums, headphones, and more.
