ARCore made its debut earlier this year, and Google is announcing that the augmented reality platform supports 250 million devices. The full list of ARCore devices include the Pixels, most of Samsung's portfolio, and recent phones from the likes of LG, Huawei, Nokia, Motorola, OnePlus, and Xiaomi.

Google is also introducing ARCore 1.6 with improved lighting and camera features. Google is making key changes to its Sceneform rendering library, which will now optimize ambient light to neutral and white, as opposed to yellow. Google says the change "aligns more closely to the way light appears in the real world, making digital objects look more natural." The switch to neutral tones also allows digital objects to appear more natural:

This change will also make objects rendered with Sceneform look as if they're affected more naturally by color and lighting in the surrounding environment. For example, if you're viewing an AR object at sunset, it would appear to be illuminated by the red and orange hues, just like real objects in the scene.

Sceneform is also picking up screen capture via a new surface mirroring API, giving developers and users the ability to record and share screenshots and video from AR apps with ease. Finally, Google is adding support to a couple of new devices with version 1.6 - the Galaxy A3 and Huawei P20 Lite.
