Newbie searching to install the right Linux version on older hardware...

First foyer into using the Linux OS for me. Medium tech level user of Windows XP/7, some 8.x, but very little 10, (the latter which I hate for all it's problems MS has given us).

I have older hardware, (eMachine Celeron machine w/Intel Celeron D340/2.93 GHz, 1Gb RAM, 80Gb HDD), running XP Pro, (altho very poorly now-a-days).

I've been researching the following 32-bit Linux distro versions on YouTube and the Internet..: Peppermint, Linux Lite, MX Linux, Linux Mint Xcfe, and even Lubuntu.

I'm am looking for known problems with any of the above distos running on older hardware, such as mine, for other Linux versions I have listed here. At least initially, I would prefer LTR versions of a Linux OS, altho maybe that's not such a wise idea..?!?

Much of what I would be doing on Linux would be of a "lite" work nature, (on whatever distro I install), using such programs as Firefox, Libreoffice, VLC, websurfing, and perhaps playing some older games such as Solitaire, Tetris, etc.

I would certainly welcome your inputs about your experiences/recommendations in helping me make a trouble-free move to a Linux OS from Windows XP.
