A fellow Oakland native, Marcus Peters is one of the many who are thrilled for Marshawn Lynch to have the opportunity to finish off his career with the Raiders.

But a friendship between the two Bay Area stars evidently won't do much to cool down the rivalry between some bitter AFC West foes.

Along with expressing his happiness for the veteran running back in an appearance at Lynch's local football camp, Peters made sure to add that he and the Kansas City Chiefs plan on maintaining their dominance over the Raiders this fall.

"It's going to feel good for him," Peters said, according to Jimmy Durkin of The Mercury News. "It's going to be a good feeling, It's going to be a good feeling for Oakland. But when we come here, we're going to beat the dog (expletive) out of him."

Kansas City is currently riding a five-game winning streak over the Raiders that dates back to before Peters was selected in the first round of the 2015 draft. The silver and black's last win in the division rivalry, oddly enough, was their first after an 0-10 start to the 2014 campaign.

The most recent pair of Chiefs victories came despite Oakland's rapid ascent last season, each far more convincing than even the 26-10 and 21-13 final scores may have shown.

Oakland will be hoping that the arrival of Lynch, in addition to the several other upgrades made on both sides of the ball, can finally allow the club to break through against the defending AFC West champs.

As was the case in 2016, the annual showdowns could go a long way toward deciding the division title at season's end.
