Ex-Patriot Seymour set to earn spot in main event at WSOP

Former New England Patriots and Oakland Raiders defensive end Richard Seymour always knew how to win at football, but he's found another competition he's quite good at in retirement.

Seymour, a three-time Super Bowl champion, is currently enjoying some success at the World Series of Poker as he turned a starting stack of $50,000 into $114,000 on the first day. The 37-year-old is having fun, using one of his Super Bowl rings to hold down his chips.

The second round of the main event started Tuesday with 5,519 players competing to be inside the top 1,084, who all would make the main event with a minimum payout of $15,000.

Seymour is currently holding on to a final event spot in 726th place.
