Miami Dolphins head coach Adam Gase has made it clear that the team is not trying to get rid of their leading receiver.

With no news of a extension as Jarvis Landry enters the final year of his rookie contract, former NFL executive Michael Lombardi speculated the Dolphins "will seriously listen to offers" for Landry, but Gase categorically denied that Monday.

"I did talk to (Landry) and told him there's no chance that he's going to be traded," Gase said, according to ESPN's James Walker. "And if something that's not true comes out like that, then I'm going to deal with it. I'm going to approach the player. ... I just let him know that there's no chance I'm going to trade you."

The Dolphins are reportedly unlikely to offer Landry an extension prior to the end of the 2017 season. Landry has been the Dolphins leader in receptions over the past three season, tying the record for most catches in a player's first three years with Odell Beckham Jr.
