The Cleveland Browns' rebuild continues in earnest.

After releasing long-time corner Joe Haden on Wednesday, the Browns announced the trade of offensive lineman Cameron Erving - a 2015 first-round pick - to the Kansas City Chiefs for a 2018 fifth-round draft pick.

The Browns were rumored to be shopping Erving, who'd been reduced to a backup role after the offseason addition of JC Tretter at center.

Cleveland has turned over a roster that last year struggled to finish 1-15.

For the Chiefs, Erving likely slides right into the starting lineup, flanked by guards Laurent Duvernay-Tardif and Byran Witzmann, and tackles Mitchell Schwartz and Eric Fisher.

The Browns are now stocked with an array of picks for next year's draft:

Browns' current 2018 picks:
Rd 1
Rd 1 (HOU)
Rd 2
Rd 2 (HOU)
Rd 2 (PHI)
Rd 3
Rd 4
Rd 4 (CAR)
Rd 5
Rd 5 (KC)
Rd 6
Rd 6 (PIT)
Rd 7
