"Bad message" and "Structure needs cleaning" for some files and folders on my external drive
by TheJooomes from LinuxQuestions.org on (#4RHQY)
Some random files and folders went weird after I tried writing to the drive with the SATA connector halfway in after a drop. Any hope of getting this stuff back?(drive seems to still be working great hardware wise, happened months ago) Luckily the damage isn't to anything too important. Can I just copy over everything to my internal drive and then back again?
Some examples:
Code:ls: cannot access 'discord emojies': Bad message
ls: cannot access 'potato pc.jpeg': Structure needs cleaningThe drive is formatted as ext4
My desktop is running Debian 10(temporary), laptop running Kubuntu 19.04, so I have those two OSes to fix this with.
