at-spi issues (mate startup/shutdown)
by paintpenguin from LinuxQuestions.org on (#4RRK6)
Hello :-)
The at-spi-registryd.desktop process is blocking shutdown for ages, and reboot. Already have any accessibility switched off (re startup) and not turned on anywhere else. I've seen a solution to this issue, but cannot find the files needed ... I'm (very new) Arch user, with mate/mate-extra desktop, and cannot make any sense of the Arch instruction: execute programs with NO_AT_BRIDGE=1 or set that as a global environment variable. I don't know which variable or how. The other solution I'm trying to do is:
sudo mv /usr/lib/at-spi2-core/at-spi2-registryd /usr/lib/at-spi2-core/at-spi2-registryd.old
and
sudo mv /usr/lib/at-spi2-core/at-spi-bus-launcher /usr/lib/at-spi2-core/at-spi-bus-launcher.old
... but no matter how I'm searching (Catfish etc) I can't find the files, to be able to adapt these 2 commands.
Thank you for any advice.
