Defenseman Zach Werenski, drafted eighth overall by the Columbus Blue Jackets in 2015, is reportedly unhappy at Michigan and thinking about going pro, according to The Columbus Dispatch's Bob Hunter.

Werenski is currently serving as captain of the United States at the World Junior Hockey Championship in Finland, and playing well. He has two goals and three assists in five games, his five points second among all defensemen at the tournament.

Werenski is reportedly eligible to play in the American Hockey League, but "some believe the sophomore could help immediately" in Columbus, Hunter writes.

The Blue Jackets are one of the worst teams in the league, so there's little doubt Werenski would be an addition on the blue line, but it's a tough call, considering the season may already be lost. An introduction to the methods - and the madness - of head coach John Tortorella is an interesting proposition, however.

The Americans, who finished second in Group A with nine points, will face the Czech Republic in the quarterfinals Saturday. The U.S. scored 18 goals and allowed only five in four games.
