Ravens hit with another major injury as McClellan out for season with torn ACL
And the hits keep coming for the Baltimore Ravens.
Ravens linebacker Albert McClellan is out for the 2017 season after tearing his ACL in practice last week, the team announced Monday.
This latest blow comes on the heels of losing key players like tight end Dennis Pitta and running back Kenneth Dixon to season-ending injuries, as well as handful role players, among them rookie guard Nico Siragusa and slot corner Tavon Young.
Joe Flacco has also missed the first three preseason games with a back injury, though head coach John Harbaugh promised Saturday the quarterback will be ready for Week 1.
McClellan started 11 games in 2016 (and appeared in 16), racking up 55 total tackles and one sack. His versatility and special teams prowess will be hard for Baltimore to replace.
