An old guy, and an old member, with his first post!
by AWBowman from LinuxQuestions.org on (#4RKH0)
Hi all - Although I joined this community in 2016,this is my first post!
While back in the 1960's I was considered to be a computer guru, it has been a number decades since being involved with the guts and strings ((ones and zeros, and related stuff) of a computer. Not only is my knowledge dated (1960's & 70's), I remember very little from that time.
In 2016 I tried to use Linux, considered moving away from the MS OS. I got lost in the nuts and bolts of the Linux OS and dropped it. However, now that I am old and gray I am in the slow process of disassociating myself with all things Windows, MS, google, etc.
So now, that I have made the full transition to MINT 19.2 OS, I am faced with a number of pressing tech issues. [I hate coding].
I have a lot of studying to do, so I'll be researching this forum for insights, advice and solutions over the next several days/weeks/months. /sigh/ So, everyone, please give me a little slack - and push me when you think it is necessary.
Thanks!
