Life in the Arctic village of Shishmaref – in pictures

Located on the island of Sarichef, in the far north-west corner of Alaska, the village sits beside the Chukchi Sea where Shell has been given approval to begin drilling. The community, mostly made up of Inupiat Inuit, is concerned about the plans, which add to the daily problems they already face as a result of climate change
