Maple Leafs' Reimer to watch from press box again Saturday, status for road trip unclear

Toronto Maple Leafs goaltender James Reimer remains out with a lingering groin injury. He'll be in the press box Saturday, though he did practice Friday, according to TSN's Jonas Siegel.

Jonathan Bernier's coming off arguably his best game of 2015, when he stopped 39 of 41 shots in a 3-2 shootout win over the Pittsburgh Penguins on Wednesday.

Bernier's 4-10-3 with an .889 save percentage and will face the St. Louis Blues on Saturday.

The Maple Leafs will head out on the road on a three-game California road trip beginning Wednesday, and Reimer's status for the trip is unclear, Seigel adds.

Reimer says he knew Wednesday morning (ahead of Pittsburgh game) that something wasn't right with groin area. Says he's "close" though.

Reimer last started on Dec. 3, but was forced into 20 minutes of relief action on Dec. 29 against the New York Islanders. He stopped all six shots he faced, but clearly wasn't ready to return.

When healthy, Reimer's been stellar. His. 936 save percentage is the highest of his career, and the goaltender's future will be a talking point as the trade deadline approaches, thanks to his expiring contract.
