Australia a loser in the TPP

According to analysis of the impending TPP Australia has almost nothing to gain from the much maligned trade agreement. The estimate by World Bank shows a predicted economy boost of less than 1%. The study shows that the deal is worth less to the US as well which should prompt people to ask who exactly benefits from this trade agreement and why should Australia sign it given what it will cost Australia to do so.

Robb screwed Australia by signing the TPP then quit (Score: 0)

The person who signed the TPP on behalf of Australia, Andrew Robb, has quit politics. Now he can look forward to retirement while Australia pays the price of his betrayal.

The good news is that the TPP can be negated in Australia by arresting Andrew Robb, putting him on trial for treason, which then allows Australia to back out of the inescapable trade agreement.

Which begs the question: Why would any country sign a trade agreement they can not later terminate?
