Netflix bows under to Verizon, too

A month ago, the US appeals court rejected the idea that the FCC could currently enforce net-neutrality statutes amongst the telecom and internet providers. Following this landmark ruling, the telecom industry was quick to push its advantage even as the White House tepidly suggested that net neutrality was too "vital not just to the free flow of information, but also to promoting innovation and economic productivity" to so quickly surrender to corporate interests.

Already, Netflix has been forced to submit to Comcast's demands to ease the Internet congestion woes inflicted upon it by Comcast. Now, like a vulture circling a corpse, Verizon's CEO is certain that they too can extort payment from Netflix as well. Is this is a presage to how the new Internet will be run under the thumb of telecom and content providers?

There really needs to be a preview for when you submit a story. I hope all those links worked ;-)

They didn't, but can you post them in the comments?

In the immediate term, I've been making do with this 'super ghetto submit preview':
 1. Wrap your submission text with
...
tags (I'm using square brackets instead of angle brackets here for reasons).
 2. Save it as an .html file and open it in the browser.
 3. That will give you a rough idea of how your submission will look, and you can double check all your links work and point to the right places.
 4. [Optional]: You can put [p][/p] in the blank lines to preserve the paragraph structure, but you'll probably want to remove them again when you submit.
 5. Then strip the
tags again, paste and submit...
Happy posting :D

Now that submission preview has been added, can you please resubmit this with working links?

I'm glad I don't live in the US, although I suppose I can look forward to helping Netflix subsidize this when they inevitably raise their rates... :/
