Interested in blackpowder musket reproduction, live in NJ. What should I know?

Recently I've been interested in black powder weapons. I'm not sure if this is the right subreddit to ask questions on this, please let know if it's not and where I should go if that's the case. I've never owned a firearm and am not interested in owning a modern firearm, but I am interested in black powder muskets. I know that NJ laws regarding guns are stricter than most, but how do NJ laws apply against reproduction muskets?
