Has anyone had fedex hold a firearm instead of ship it back after 3 attempts?

Ive called fedex and ive called the seller of the firearm. Fedex is about as helpful as youd think. It's apparently being held at one of their terminals. On hold to be delivered. No date. No expected date of attempt. As far as they told me, it sounds like it's just sitting there with no info on when theyll try again. And they would not help me past saying the shipper has to request it to be returned.

The shipper agreed fedex sucks and theyll try and contact them to get it sent back. I'll call tomorrow to get an update.

So my question is, is this normal? It seems like theyre just holding my gun for no reason. Which to be honest scares me because i fucking hate fedex.
