Canada and Morocco faced off in their third matches of the 2022 FIFA World Cup. Within minutes, Morocco took a 1-0 lead after Hakim Ziyech took advantage of a mistake from Canada's goalkeeper. In the 23d minute, Youssef En-Nesyri scored a goal to give Morocco a 2-0 lead. At the end of the first half, Canada got on the board after the ball deflected off of Nayef Aguerd in the 40th minute. Both teams struggled to score in the second half. Morocco will advance to the knockout stage for first time since 1986.

There was a penalty called in the box for Belgium but it was taken away due to offside position. Belgium just couldn’t get anything going after that and would draw 0-0 with Croatia, eliminating them from the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
