Honduras and Haiti faced off in the final game of the group stage for each team in the CONCACAF Gold Cup. Both teams needed a victory, and it was evident as the game was gritty. Haiti came out with a lot of energy, which resulted in Frantzdy Pierrot scoring in 20'. However, after that, it was all Honduras, as they responded with the equalizer late in the first half, with Jerry Bengtson scoring in 42'. The second half was again physical as both teams received yellow cards; however, Honduras' energy in the first half transferred over as Jose Mario Pinto Paz scored an amazing header in the 59'. The second half went back and forth, and Haiti had opportunities; however, Honduras ended up victorious.
Mexico and Qatar squared off at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California. Qatar got on the board in the 27', Hazem Shehata scored on a beautiful header. A controversial red card was given out in the 68' minute to a Qatar assistant coach, and a yellow to Mexico player Santiago Gimenez. Mexico had several chances to tie the game in the second half, but ultimately fell short. Despite the 1-0 loss, Mexico won Group B and with the win, Qatar advanced to the quarterfinals.
NASCAR made history Sunday night at the Grant Park 220, the first-ever street race in Chicago. There were nine cautions, one overtime, and one big pile-up that happened late in Stage 2. Christopher Bell dominated early and won both Stage 1 and Stage 2. He would eventually lose his lead after he crashed into the tire barrier. As the race went on, Shane van Gisbergen and Justin Haley battled back-and-forth with multiple lead changes in the last few laps of the race. In the end, three-time Super Cars champ Shane van Gisbergen captured the big Grant Park 200 win, making him the first driver to win his first Cup Series start in 60 years.
The United States and Trinidad & Tobago faced off at the Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina. United States' Jesus Ferreira was the man of the match scoring three goals in the first half. Ferreira become the first USMNT player in U.S. history to score back-to-back hat tricks. In the 65' Cade Cowell extended the lead, scoring his first USMNT international goal. Gianluca Busio netted his first career goal for the USMNT in the 78'. Brandon Vazquez closed out the game scoring in stoppage time, United States went on to defeat Trinidad & Tobago 6-0.
Jamaica faced off against Saint Kitts and Nevis in the 2023 CONCACAF Gold Cup on Sunday, July 2nd. First, Jamaica took a 1-0 lead over St. Kitts and Nevis after goalkeeper Julani Archibald scored in own net in 31'. Then, Jonathan Russell scored the second goal for Jamaica in 46'. to give Jamaica a 2-0 lead. Later, Jamaica's Di'Shon Bernard made a shot to take the lead over Saint Kitts and Nevis, 3-0 in 50'. Next, Daniel Johnson and Cory Burke scored goals within a minute of each other to extend Jamaica's lead over St. Kitts and Nevis, 5-0. Ultimately, Jamaica came out on top, 5-0 over Saint Kitts and Nevis.
The Atlanta United FC took on Philadelphia Union in this MLS regular season . Midfielder Thiago Almada got the scoring started in the seventh minute of the match with a huge strike from just outside the penalty box. Defender Brooks Lennon added a second goal in the 79th minute to close out the scoring in this match. Atlanta United FC defeated Philadelphia Union 2-0.

On this day in 2010, Uruguay's Luis Suarez used his hands to prevent Ghanas' Dominic Adiyah's game winning goal in extra time. Ghana lost in pens, and Suarez's actions earn him a red card and prevented Ghana from being the first African nation ever to advance to the semis in the World Cup.
