"The secret system works by agents emailing the FBI a completed document called “ATF Investigations Information Form for Monitoring Firearms Purchasers in the NICS.” The agents are instructed that they may request monitoring gun purchases of people “who are under criminal investigation for violations or potential violations of law.” That means they are monitoring people who buy guns but have not broken the law. The people put in the “NICS Monitoring Services” are never notified and seemingly have no way to appeal being watched without a warrant." “If they had probable cause, they could seek a warrant from a judge, but they aren’t doing that,” explained Olson. “They are just deciding they have some reason to believe a certain person’s exercise of Second Amendment rights needs to be monitored. And it’s their own system so they make up their own standards. There doesn’t appear to be any oversight here.” "one of the newly released documents from the GOA’s FOIA that is buried in the hundreds of pages turned over by the ATF shows that there is no limit to how long the FBI will monitor a person’s gun purchases. “I will monitor your suspect for 180 days, at the end of 180 days I will contact you and ask if you would like to continue for another hundred days and keep repeating this process until such time as you wish the investigation stop,” an FBI official emailed an ATF agent." https://www.theepochtimes.com/exclusive-documents-show-fbi-and-atf-warrantless-surveillance-through-gun-background-checks_4981696.html Paywall removed: https://12ft.io/proxy?&q=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.theepochtimes.com%2Fexclusive-documents-show-fbi-and-atf-warrantless-surveillance-through-gun-background-checks_4981696.html submitted by /u/KoalaMeth
T/C Encore in .44 Rem Magnum. I noticed a light rattle when I have a round in the chamber, like when I shake the gun you can hear the round move around inside. I made 5 shots and I'm not sure if that is supposed to be that way. submitted by /u/LuckyLuke162
Been having a lot of trouble putting the sights on the rail and I’m worried I’m going to break the sights. Is this something legit to worry about or am I being too gentle? I don’t want to break the rail or the plastic sights. submitted by /u/Kitchen-Hat-5174
I see posts fairly often, mainly in specific firearm subs, where people will say 6K rounds no issues or just hit 550 rounds... What does everyone use to keep track of round counts on multiple firearms? With over 20 that I shoot somewhat regularly I can't remember what I've run through each one but would like to start keeping track. Just wondering if anyone is using anything other than a pad of paper maybe. submitted by /u/Rex450se
I was in Frontier Justice, gave 400 cash for a Walter P22. Had to take the 6 question bubble test (ATF 4473). I was then told I answered one incorrectly. Now I am on a 2 week hold for the weapon. I am now thinking I should take it as a sign to keep my money for other priorities. (I have a clean background) Can I go in for a refund? Asking here because they are not open yet, but it’s been about 4 days since then. submitted by /u/bbenedict1998
I understand the basics of the 4473 and things being legal at state vs federal level but how does this actually work? Say you used your firearm in self defense and had a MMJ card, maybe state wise you're ok but what's stopping/ what's the line that would get crossed for fed to get involved? It's confusing to me that 2 laws could be legal but completely opposite. Some states say you can have a license or conceal/open carry license but that doesn't change federal law. submitted by /u/chicitypk
Does anyone own a Tisas 1911 45acp? Never heard of it but saw one in my local gun shop and was thinking about getting it. The one I saw was a nightstalker for $800. Is it even worth it? submitted by /u/Artistic_Draw1971
WA AWB signed. Sad days but hopeful for challenges against state and federal constitutionality get raised quickly. Also CRS Firearms got convicted last week. submitted by /u/dbnotso2018
Hi everyone! First time poster here, sorry if I am not in the right sub. I am in the process of moving to Hawaii and I currently own a Glock 35. It has a standard magazine capacity of 15+1. I looked into Hawaii gun laws which I believe prohibits magazine capacity over 10 rounds. Does that mean my Glock is banned? Or can I just not exceed 10 rounds in the mag. Thank you!! submitted by /u/SteezyJuicebox
I’m trying to colour a Kriss Vector something like depicted in the photo, I’ve considered spray paint. Might Cerakote be a decent choice? If so, can I apply that at home? Or might my local gunsmith be able to do it? submitted by /u/jesseboy347
I have this CZ I got from my grandpa and I’m just looking on info about the gun itself… has the Eagle K marking on the barrel, all matching serial numbers, and original holster… serial number is 183XXX. submitted by /u/Existing-Rice4492
I'm in Arizona and my background check still hasn't cleared. the shop said it would be delayed for 10 days minimum for anyone under 21, but I called today to check in and they said it was still on hold after 14 days. has anyone had a gun held for this long? is it common? submitted by /u/Toasted__Water
Had a guy sell this today. Someone know if this is a rare one or one used in Ireland? (unlikely I know) but I am curious after seeing the ak guy’s video submitted by /u/alKememaro

I've been thinking about getting another .22lr handgun that may become a suppressor host in the future. I've pretty much narrowed it down to those three. submitted by /u/Rayfan87
Soon I'll be buying my first .22lr. Narrowed it down to a Buck Mark and ended up with two different styles; the Contour URX and the Field target. The medallion was in the running for a long time, it is alsom one of the more expensive buckmarks in the shop while on the Browning-site it is the cheapest? Anyway, here are some reasonings. The Field Target is a tad heavier.
Okay to start off I know nothing about winchester rifles or even bolt actions in general. Was watching youtube and a video of carlos hathcock popped up and made me curious about maybe buying a model 70 but most of the 30-06 im seeing are either polymer or the stock is shaped differently and it got my wondering how hard is it to swap stocks and does anyone sell the same shape as what he carried in vietnam? I dont care about getting a pre 64 model if I dont have to submitted by /u/Earlfillmore
