Just last week, we discussed GP102 GPUs in the form of rumored Titan and GTX 1080 Ti cards. Today, we're adding another Pascal-related rumor: PCGamer is reporting that full-fat, gluten-packing GP104 GPUs will make their way into laptops. The site suggests the full-featured GTX 1070 and GTX 1080 graphics cards (that is, with full TMU, ROP, and CUDA core counts) will arrive in laptops at the end of summer.Asus ROG recently teased a laptop with an unspecified graphics card and a high benchmark score. Now, that laptop could've been the GX800 we covered earlier this week with its SLI graphics ...Read more...

During AMD's presentation at Computex 2016, the company showed no fear as it compared the new Polaris-based Radeon RX 480 GPU to Nvidia's GeForce GTX 1080. The $700 Pascal-based powerhouse was tested in Ashes of the Singularity versus a pair of the Polaris GPUs and came away a little embarrassed in this scenario. AMD presented a slide that claimed the GTX 1080 only managed 58.7 (we presume average) FPS, while the Radeons pushed out 62.5 FPS using the same settings. ...Read more...

Three days ago in a land far away across the sea at an event called Computex 2016, Dell announced a new line of Inspiron two-in-ones. The line-up was divided by series designators 3000, 5000, and 7000, to distinguish them all. The first of its kind, the 17" Dell Inspiron 7000, dwarfed its siblings one-by-one. From big to small they range, at 17", 15", and 13", and last but not least the baby Inspiron 3000 at 11". In all, Dell did launch six new two-in-ones of various sizes and features, but not one is too small.

As we said last week, the GeForce GTX 1070 presents a tantalizing value proposition, but that Founders Edition premium puts a bit of a damper on things. Plenty of eager eyes are pointed toward the non-reference cards that Nvidia predicted would ring in at about $379 for the GeForce GTX 1070. Even though the reference GTX 1070 cards have yet to hit the market, some vendors have already started announcing boards with customized cooling setups. ...Read more...

Heads up, TeamViewer users. There's trouble in the air, and it's not quite clear where it's coming from. The software is making inroads into remote banking automation, though not in the form one would expect. Many users are reporting that their TeamViewer-enabled computers were broken into by unknown attackers, who proceeded to clean out PayPal accounts, order gift cards and items from online stores, and perform other equally helpful operations. The company has issued a statement indicating there was no security breach on its servers, and attributes the break-ins to poor password choices and a piece of Windows malware currently in the wild. The TeamViewer software offers cross-platform remote control functionality. Fanless case specialist Streacom is releasing the passively-cooled DB4 mini-ITX chassis today. While cases with integrated passive cooling aren't a new thing, the DB4 is noteworthy not only for its distinctive design, but also for its motherboard compatibility. Streacom says virtually any mini-ITX motherboard will fit in the case, a characteristic made possible by the fact that the mobo is mounted parallel to the case's side panels.
