How tocustomize your iPhone’s app icons
Illustration by Samar Haddad / The Verge Sometimes, an app's icon just doesn't look right on your homescreen. For example, let's say - just for the sake of argument - that the icon for a social networking app was switched from a pretty blue bird to a rather stark X." Could you change that icon? The answer is yes - it's doable using Apple's built-in Shortcuts app. You actually won't be replacing the app's official icon. Rather, you'll be creating a separate shortcut that leads to the app. It's a tedious and time-consuming process, but in the end, you can have a fully customized iPhone homescreen. Here's how you do it:

Now, AI companies see a path to profit in harnessing our love of efficiency, and they've got a name for their solution: agents.AI agents are autonomous programs that perform tasks, make decisions, and interact with environments with little human input, and they're the focus of every major company working on AI today. Microsoft has Copilots" designed to help businesses automate things like customer service and administrative tasks. Windows 11’s new passkey design includes cloud syncing and 1Password integration

A redesigned Windows Hello experience will allow you to select how you want to save your passkeys and even sync them to your Microsoft account or store them with 1Password, Bitwarden, or other passkey providers.A new API for third-party password and passkey managers means developers can plug directly into the Windows 11 experience, so you can use the same passkey from your mobile device to authenticate on your PC. Right now it's possible in some apps to do this through QR codes and other ways to authenticate from a mobile device, but Microsoft's full support means the passkeys experience on Windows is about to get a lot better. Here are my picks for the best Prime Day deals on robot vacuums and mops
The excellent Roomba j7 is down to $400 this Prime Day. | Photo by Jennifer Pattison Tuohy / The Verge Robot vacuums are some of the most useful smart home gadgets you can buy. Small, circular home helpers that clean areas you can't reach and work hard so you don't have to, these little suckers are life-changing.As The Verge's resident robot vacuum expert, I've tested dozens of different models over the last five years and have always highly recommended only buying robot vacuums when they're on sale. This is because: (a) they're expensive, and (b) they're almost always on sale - if not today, then likely tomorrow. And today, the last day of the October Prime Day event, is a very good day to pick one up. There are some excellent deals to be had - over 50 percent off in some cases. Here are my picks based on price and prowess:
