The agent for Chris Higgins says they will cooperate with the Vancouver Canucks in an attempt to find the veteran winger a new home.

"We will work together on this," Matt Keator told Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman on Sunday.

The agent confirmed Higgins didn't make a trade demand, and said the Canucks have granted him permission to talk to other teams.

"There is nothing acrimonious here," Keator told Friedman. "We understand this is part of a transition. Vancouver treated Chris very well over the years. It was a great fit. We'll see where this goes."

Higgins has a partial no-trade clause but is willing to expand it, Friedman reports.

The 32-year-old winger is signed through 2016-17 for $2.5 million over each of the next two seasons.

He has two goals and one assist in 25 games.
