Blues' Allen, Bouwmeester deemed week to week with respective injuries

The St. Louis Blues have taken a bit of a hit on the back end.

Goaltender Jake Allen and defenseman Jay Bouwmeester, both of whom have been hit with upper-body injuries, have been listed as week to week by head coach Ken Hitchcock.

As a result, Brian Elliott will pick up the lion's share of the starts in net, while any possible trade talk involving Kevin Shattenkirk may be put on hold.

Meanwhile, the outlook on Paul Stastny, who also missed the team's last game, is more encouraging:

Despite being supplanted by Allen as the starter, Elliott has played well this season, holding a record of 6-4-4 and a .919 save percentage.
