Red Wings activate Quincey, place Miller on long-term IR
The Detroit Red Wings made a trio of roster moves Monday ahead of a tilt with the Los Angeles Kings.
The Red Wings activated defenseman Kyle Quincey - who has not played since Oct. 23 - off injured reserve.

The 30-year-old has missed the last 35 games after undergoing surgery on his ankle. He had one goal and two assists in seven games prior to the injury.
In order to create cap space for Quincey's return, the Red Wings placed forward Drew Miller on injured reserve with a knee injury sustained in Sunday's victory over the Anaheim Ducks. The move alleviates the team of his $1.35-million cap hit.

Detroit also assigned defenseman Jakub Kindl - who cleared waivers Sunday - to the AHL's Grand Rapids Griffins. The move also coincides with Quincey's return. Kindl has two years remaining on his contract with an average cap hit of $2.4 million.
