Blue Jackets place Kevin Connauton on waivers

It appears as though the Seth Jones deal will cost Kevin Connauton a roster spot in Columbus.
The Blue Jackets placed the defenseman on waivers Tuesday.
With plenty of teams starving for help on defense, Connauton, 25, will most certainly garner a few looks. He's offensively capable, with 11 goals and 37 points in 125 games, and has decent possession numbers, but has had a difficult time fitting into John Tortorella's lineup.
He costs a little more than $683,000 against the cap, and will be a restricted free agent at season's end.
