Vancouver Canucks center Brandon Sutter will miss 6-8 weeks after undergoing surgery to mend a broken jaw suffered Tuesday versus the Colorado Avalanche, the team announced.
Sutter's latest setback means he'll dress in just a handful of games in his first season with Vancouver. He's been limited to 20 appearances through the first four months of the season after having surgery to repair a sports hernia in late November.
Canucks defenseman Alex Edler also suffered a significant injury in Tuesday's loss, breaking his fibula. He'll miss six weeks.
