Midnight Special, A Film About a Dad and His Son With Special Powers Who Run From Police and Religious Extremists

Warner Bros. has released the second trailer for Midnight Special, an upcoming sci-fi thriller written and directed by Jeff Nichols. It follows a father named Roy (Michael Shannon) and his son Alton (Jaeden Lieberher), who has special powers, as they run from police and religious. The film also stars Adam Driver, Kirsten Dunst, and Joel Edgerton. Midnight Special is set to hit theaters on March 18th, 2016.

What starts as a race from religious extremists and local law enforcement quickly escalates to a nationwide manhunt involving the highest levels of the Federal Government. Risking everything, Roy is committed to helping Alton reach his ultimate purpose, whatever that might be and whatever it costs, in a story that takes audiences on a perilous journey from Texas to the Florida coast, while exploring the bonds of love and trust, and the nature of faith.
