A video clip taken from the Exploratorium Science Center's broadcast of the March 8, 2016 total solar eclipse shows the four-minute totality when the Sun was completely blocked by the Moon's shadow. The total eclipse was visible Indonesia and parts of the Pacific Ocean.

Another video taken from the European Space Agency's Proba2 mini-satellite in sun-synchronous low Earth orbit shows a partial view of the Moon transiting the Sun. NASA's Terra satellite captured the opposite view and photographed the Moon's shadow cast on the southern Pacific Ocean.
