The state's premier says owners of Latrobe valley mines are profitable enough to absorb tens of millions of dollars in extra costs without cutting jobs

Victoria's coalmines are being ordered to hand over hundreds of millions of dollars more for the rehabilitation of their sites when mining ceases.
