Alright, rules aficionados. Explain this one.

Antoine Roussel scored one of the more bizarre goals you'll see Saturday night in Game 2, flipping a puck over the net and onto the back Minnesota Wild goaltender Devan Dubnyk as he angled his skate at a loose puck deep in the offensive zone.

Miraculously, Dubnyk was able to pin the puck between his back and the crossbar before appearing to back the net off its moorings to earn a whistle. As such, it was originally called no goal. But upon further review, the NHL's Situation Room deemed the puck crossed the goal line in a "legal fashion" before the flexible pegs were pulled out from underneath.

However, it doesn't appear as though the NHL considered Roussel's initial contact, which in the eyes of some - presumably Wild coach John Torchetti - could have been considered a kicking motion.

The local footy team seemed to think so, too.

@DallasStars that Roussel is pretty good with his feet. Mind loaning him to us this summer? aiaiai
