Canada's execution was nearly flawless Sunday, except in one way.

The team captured gold at the World Championship with a 2-0 victory over Finland, but the performance on the ice was almost overshadowed by the team's performance of "O Canada" following the game, which was questionable at best:

The Simon Cowell's of the internet clearly found the team's rendition atrocious:

They are terrible singers but the song still sounds beautiful.

Luckily, winning the gold medal has nothing to do with singing:

Canada won't win any gold medals for that singing, though....

It's in their blood:

Canada: amazing hockey players, horrendous anthem singers.

- James Duthie (@tsnjamesduthie) May 22, 2016

Canada would likely take gold in hockey over singing any day:

Better at hockey than anthem signing, this group.

You can't be perfect:

Team Canada. Excellent game. Terrible job singing the anthem. IIHF #TeamCanada #DontQuitYourDayJobs

The hashtag says it all:

One of the best things about #TeamCanada winning is getting to hear them singing the national anthem...badly. #butwithenthusiasm

Canada will surely have a chance at redemption when the World Cup of Hockey kicks off in September.
