The Bloop was a loud, low-frequency sound recorded in the Pacific Ocean in 1997, but its origin remained a mystery for years. The Pacific Marine Environmental Laboratory at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration believes they have solved the mystery by comparing the Bloop to the sound of underwater icequakes.
