Nvidia updates Shield Portable with security and stability fixes

Today is apparently Nvidia update day. On top of a new set of Game Ready drivers, the company issued a software update for the Shield Portable handheld gaming device. The new software rolls up Android security updates for version 5.1 Lollipop, fixes a bug with the brightness setting for the LED logo on the device's home button, stabilizes the device's volume during video playback, prevents a hardware freeze when its lid is closed and reopened, and solves an issue where the device would improperly display an "Optimizing apps" notification during use. Nvidia says this is an optional update, but the fact that it contains security fixes means we'd go out of our way to install it.
