Thailand is home to some 400 species of mosquito to include the Anopheles mosquito, Mansonia sp, Culex tritaeniorhynchus and Aedes aegypti and A. albopictus, which are responsible for transmitting some of the most common viral and parasitic diseases. During the first six months of 2016, Thailand health officials reported 1944 cases of malaria and two deaths.
