Expressing his frustrations over an injury to one of his most promising players left Scot McCloughan sporting a wrap on his hand at training camp Friday.

The Washington Redskins general manager told former tight end Chris Cooley that he recently punched a wall upon learning of Josh Doctson's Achilles issue, which has since turned out to be less severe than first anticipated.

"I said, 'What happened to your hand?'" Cooley explained on ESPN 980, according to Michael Phillips of The Richmond Times-Dispatch. "He said, 'when I found out about Doctson - which they thought was going to be much worse, apparently it isn't going to be as bad - I punched the wall.'"

Doctson, a first-round selection in this year's draft, was forced to miss the majority of spring workouts following the initial injury.

The Redskins opted to place him on the physically unable to perform list for the beginning of camp, but reports have indicated that his time on the sidelines is expected to be short.

If healthy, Doctson will compete for a lead role among an already strong group of Redskins receivers.

The TCU product emerging as a playmaker alongside DeSean Jackson, Pierre Garcon, Jamison Crowder, and Jordan Reed would have the Washington offense in an ideal position to build upon its breakout 2015 campaign.
