Bills' Williams takes dangerous hit in practice after suffering neck injury in 2015
Buffalo Bills safety Aaron Williams is being evaluated for a concussion following a collision in practice Thursday with wide receiver Dez Lewis, a team spokesperson confirmed.
Williams missed the majority of the 2015 season due to a neck injury suffered against the New England Patriots in Week 2. The 26-year-old was rendered motionless but returned for a Week 5 game against the Tennessee Titans, before being held out for the rest of the season.
Bills defensive tackle Kyle Williams confirmed that head coach Rex Ryan told the team Aaron suffered what appears to be a concussion, as opposed to a neck injury.
"When you look over, and you see it's (Aaron), your thoughts go to his neck and those sorts of things," Kyle said of his teammate to ESPN's Mike Rodak. "As somebody's who's been around him a long time, you get concerned for him. You say a prayer for him."
Bills wide receiver Robert Woods echoed the same concerns.
"Just to know the whole neck, collision thing, any time he collides - I mean, I'm thinking about it," Woods said. "I don't know if (Williams) is (thinking about it) or not, but when you see a guy go down like that who has a history with neck injuries, that's the first thing that comes to your mind."
