Apple will hold its next special event September 7

Apple sent out a flurry of invitations to the tech press today that heralds another in a long line of its special events. This latest event will be held September 7. The tagline this time around-"See you on the 7th"-almost certainly means we'll be introduced to a new generation of iPhone hardware early next month. The company is once again renting out San Francisco's expansive Bill Graham Civic Auditorium to host this latest extravganza, another hint we're in for something big.
