Swiss-based utility Axpo said Tuesday that the forged replica of the rector pressure vessel (RPV) Ring C for the Beznau Unit 1 reactor, the oldest operating reactor in Switzerland, confirmed the presence of aluminum oxide inclusions in the plant's component, but that the model also proves that the reactor is safe to operate.(read more)
