Crockett's analysis focuses primarily on how Homer's income compared to that of the actual American middle class in the years the show has been on the air.
Crockett's piece also includes a chart of 100 jobs held by Homer and their real-world average annual salaries that range from $980,000 per year as the CEO of a power plant to $17,900 per year as a drive-thru employee.
