Filmmaker Kristian Williams (a.k.a. "kaptainkristian") has created a new video essay where he takes a look at how the Spawn comic book series helped give rise to Image Comics. The comic book publisher was founded in 1992 by popular writers and illustrators (Todd McFarlane, Rob Liefeld, Jim Lee, and others) to aid creative comic creators who were being put on the back burner by major comic book publishers, such as Marvel and DC Comics.
