In a very clever animation by Pitchfork, three tween-ish students presented to their disinterested class, a multi-media history report on Goth culture, noting that it existed way before the internet was ever invented.

Goth was a subset of the UK punk scene that was less into straight up nihilism than a romanticized fascination with darkness.
