Ways a Person Could Die Trying to Get to Mars

Vox science reporter Brian Resnick shares a list of several ways a person could die trying to get to Mars. NASA and private space companies like SpaceX are working to get humans to Mars, but the mission wouldn't be without risk. There are opportunities to die at every step of the process from the launch, to the journey, and on the surface of Mars itself.

Much like early voyages to the South Pole or the initial moon launches were incredibly dangerous, the first would-be Martian explorers will face huge risks. It doesn't mean we shouldn't try. There are so many good reasons to send humans to Mars. But there's a cost to conquering new worlds and exploring hostile environments.
