The Anatomy of the Underwater Fiber Optic Cables That Connect the Internet
by Glen Tickle from Laughing Squid on (#25J7J)
Google employees Natalie Hammel and Lorraine Yurshansky look at the anatomy of the Monet underwater fiber optic cable that will be installed between Boca Raton, Florida and Santos, Brazil for their educational and entertaining series Nat and Lo. In the video, Hammel and Yurshansky visit the sites where the cable is produced as well as the ships that are helping lay it along the ocean floor.
Nat and Lo used their connection to help the What's Inside? channel get their hands on a piece of the cable to cut it open for a closer look.
