Sometimes, watching the Colorado Avalanche isn't one of the most painful experiences in hockey.

The Avs snapped one of their many five-game losing streaks of the season Friday with a 2-1 overtime decision over the Carolina Hurricanes, after Matt Duchene and Mikko Rantanen hooked up on the winner.

Hell of a play by Duchene, a left-handed shot, who, if you look closely, lifts his right leg just before hitting the top of the circle, making Cam Ward think shot for a split second. Duchene then put it on a pillow for Rantanen, who made no mistake.

There's a reason why Rantanen's a huge part of the future in Denver. But, then again, we were saying the same thing about Duchene a few years ago, too.
