Artist and writer Eunsan Huh has created a wonderful pictorial series entitled "Every Single Word in Icelandic", an illustrated guide to the fascinating Icelandic language and culture, one deconstructed word at a time.

Every Single Word In Icelandic is a pictographic exploration of the Icelandic language. I find an interesting compound word, then deconstruct and illustrate it as icons. The goal is to express how Icelandic can be deadpan literal and unexpectedly poetic at the same time.

Groiur (vegetation) + His (house) = Groiurhis (green house) In Iceland they use geothermal energy to heat greenhouses. This way they can grow many vegetables that don't like the cold, like tomatoes and cucumbers and even bananas!
