Prisoner dignity is an issue that is all too easy for bureaucrats and the unassuming public to push aside when there are more "pressing" issues at stake. For those more concerned with budget lines and keeping their jobs than the humanity of the alleged criminal class, incarcerated individuals become nothing more than a number.
