Philadelphia Eagles safety Malcolm Jenkins made waves last year for supporting Colin Kaepernick's protest against police brutality and racial inequality, and he's not backing down with a new NFL season approaching.
Jenkins appeared on VICELAND's "Desus and Mero" to champion his advocacy Monday.
"Being a football player, being an athlete, it gets you access to (what) people who do this work every day can't get," Jenkins said.
"We're trying to use that platform to bridge some gaps, and put some pressure on some people to make decisions, and continue to push that agenda."
Although the NFL world has largely chastised Kaepernick for his protests, Jenkins is carrying on the message with his job security never in doubt as a top defensive player for the Eagles.
